From the start, Lubavitch UK was concerned to help Jewish students make access to their tradition. The Lubavitch University Council was headed by Rabbi Shmuel Lew for many years. Now it is directed by Rabbi Zvi Telsner at Lubavitch House 020 8800 0022, networking with ChabadLive run by Rabbi Gershon Overlander, which runs programmes for students. Rabbi Telsner gives regular shiurim to students in Cambridge and elsewhere.

In the vacations, Rabbi Telsner helps students from round the world find holiday accommodation for Shabbat in Britain or, conversely, helps UK students who are travelling to find temporary accommodation anywhere in the world, using the vast Lubavitch network.
